Michael J. Hennig is a partner in the firm's Chicago office, co-chair of the Medical Liability practice group, a member of the Business Development Committee and previously served on the Executive Committee. Mike focuses his practice on medical liability, product liability and construction and has extensive multi-state trial experience in Illinois, Wisconsin and Kentucky. He also has extensive experience representing healthcare providers before the Illinois Department of Professional and Financial Regulation. More than 35 of his cases have gone to verdict, including:
- Cases involving allegations of medical malpractice, product liability and construction injuries.
- Verdicts involving allegations of medical malpractice include the defense of a number of specialties, including pulmonology, critical care, general surgery, internal medicine, psychiatry, orthopedic surgery, radiology, anesthesiology, obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology, family practice, and physical therapy.
- Verdicts involving allegations of product liability involved mesothelioma, as well as neurological, respiratory diseases and disorders allegedly caused by exposure to welding rod compounds including asbestos, chromium and manganese.
- Verdicts involving construction injuries include representation of the general contractor.
While in law school, Mike was a member of the John Marshall Law Review and a recipient of the Order of John Marshall.
Mike has held leadership positions in several industry organizations including, co-chair for the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel "Rooking Seminar." He has been a speaker for the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois Defense Counsel, Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, Counsel on Litigation Management and the Emerging and Environmental Claims Managers Association and has contributed to the ILCLE Medical Malpractice- 2018 Edition Handbook.
