Marc F. Benjoya is a partner in the firm's Libertyville office and a member of the firm's Executive Committee. The Libertyville office serves a multi-county jurisdiction which includes Lake County, McHenry County, Winnebago County, Boone County, Cook County and Wisconsin.
Mr. Benjoya concentrates his practice in civil litigation and has extensive trial experience in complex cases involving professional negligence, product liability, commercial litigation, environmental/toxic tort, construction and municipal liability. Mr. Benjoya has represented Fortune 500 corporations in the pharmaceutical, automotive, environmental, petroleum, construction equipment and service industries. He has also been retained to represent physicians, hospitals and midsize corporations in litigation in state and federal court and before the Department of Professional Regulation. Mr. Benjoya has also served as national trial counsel to one of the largest aerial platform lift manufacturers in the country, representing them in product liability and commercial litigation across the country. Mr. Benjoya is a frequent invited speaker on issues of professional negligence/medical malpractice, risk management and trial strategies for physicians, insurers and hospitals.
Before joining Cassiday Schade LLP in 1983, Mr. Benjoya was associated with G.D. Searle pharmaceutical company in their product liability litigation department and worked on CU-7 IUD litigation and other products and services. Mr. Benjoya also served a clerkship with Federal Court Justice Rozkowski of the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Illinois.
