What type of work does the firm conduct?

What is the firm's work environment like?
There is a great deal of camaraderie at Cassiday Schade. Our “open door” policy with both staff and attorneys helps new team members get acclimated. We find that new employees are easily integrated into the firm. Our team approach also gives everyone in the firm a supportive environment in which to work.
How does the firm recognize high performing employees?
Cassiday Schade was built on a foundation of offering superior service. Upholding that tradition, our firm actively looks for ways to reward employees that work hard and go the extra mile. Attorneys and managers may have the opportunity to earn a bonus annually based upon their contribution to the firm. Support staff employees showing exemplary service may be nominated for recognition with the firm’s Above and Beyond Program.
Is there a dress code?
The firm’s offices are business casual. Professional dress is necessary for attendance at court and depositions as well as for other employees during client meetings or otherwise representing the firm outside of the office. Support staff are invited to take advantage of casual dress on Fridays.
Are there opportunities to socialize outside of the office?

What are the "hours"?
While work/life balance is a value that is embraced at Cassiday Schade, we expect that all employees are willing to commit the time necessary to provide the highest quality legal service to our clients. All employees (staff and attorney) are expected to maintain a regular office presence. Naturally, these expectations are defined differently for varying positions within the firm. Management and support staff have scheduled hours in order to provide ongoing coverage for attorney and other firm needs. Attorneys are expected to have visibility within the office in addition to the external work that they engage in with existing clients and on new business development.
What are the billable hour requirements?
Cassiday Schade sets goals commensurate with experience level (year of license). It is expected that all attorneys in the firm will meet firm expectations. New law school graduates are welcomed to the firm with an emphasis on learning and growing as an attorney as opposed to meeting a billable hour requirement. We strive to do all we can to acclimate new attorneys not only to their new profession, but also to the firm and our clients.

Does the firm support professional development?
Employees are expected to have the basic skills necessary to complete the functions of their job at the time of their hire. In addition to those skills, Cassiday Schade makes every effort to provide ongoing training and development for our staff. These opportunities may be offered in the form of group training or on an as needed one-on-one basis.
