Catherine L. Garvey is a partner in the firm's Chicago office and has focused her practice in the defense of professional and general negligence litigation.
Ms. Garvey's nursing background brings a unique perspective in the evaluation and handling of these cases. She has defended lawsuits involving claims of professional and general negligence, and has had trial experience as both first and second chair in defending these claims. She has also represented a variety of professionals licensure hearings.
Ms. Garvey has experience providing recommendations regarding issues of risk management, contributed to the development of hospital policies, and lectured on legal issues affecting health care providers in a variety of settings.
Ms. Garvey is a graduate of DePaul University School of Law, where she was awarded a Certificate in Health Law and served as editor of the Journal of Health and Hospital Law. Prior to and during law school, she worked as a registered nurse.
